Why exclusive use

Not a room. The whole place.

When you take a camp or house on an exclusive-use basis, everything about it becomes yours: every tent or bedroom, the pool and the fire, the vehicles and the guides, and a team who look after no one but your party. There are no other guests to plan around, no fixed mealtimes, no shared sightings — only your own rhythm, across the whole property and the land it sits on.

It is the natural choice for a family or group of friends, for a milestone or a honeymoon, for a delegation that needs confidentiality, or for anyone who simply values complete privacy. Children can be children; a celebration can run late; a public figure can travel unseen. The wild, and the whole of a beautiful place, entirely to yourselves.

Your camp, your rhythm

A team who serve only you

Breakfast whenever you wake; a game drive that turns for home only when you say; a fire lit and a table laid under the stars for your family alone. With the property yours, the staff take their cue entirely from you — a private chef to your tastes, guides matched to your interests, and a host to make sure nothing is ever asked twice.

We choose the property to fit your party and occasion, negotiate the buyout, and arrange every private touch — from a child’s birthday to a vow renewal — so the place feels, for a while, like your own home in the wild.

On pricing: exclusive-use is charged per night for the whole property, so cost per person falls as your party grows — often comparable to standard luxury rates once you’re eight or more. Peak and festive dates, minimum stays and specific properties vary; a firm, all-in quote follows your enquiry. See the guide to booking a whole camp.

Questions, answered

Booking an exclusive-use safari.

How much does it cost to book a whole safari camp?
Indicatively, a whole private house starts from around US$6,900 per night (up to eight guests), a full luxury-camp buyout from about US$12,500 per night (up to twelve), and larger lodges or private islands from around US$22,000. Because it’s priced per property rather than per person, the cost per head falls as your party grows. A firm, all-in quote follows your dates. See how to book a whole camp.
Is it priced per person or for the whole property?
For the whole property, per night — regardless of how many of you there are (up to its capacity). That’s why exclusive use often works out close to standard luxury rates once you’re a family or group of eight or more, while giving you total privacy.
How many guests do I need, and is there a minimum stay?
You can take a property privately even as a couple or small family — you simply pay for the whole place. Most buyouts carry a minimum stay of around three nights, and some peak or festive dates have their own terms, which we confirm upfront.
What’s included in a buyout?
The entire property and grounds, a private chef and full staff team, dedicated guides and vehicles for the party, all meals, house drinks and laundry, private and flexible activities, celebration and family planning, and all park and conservancy fees. Flights to the property, premium wines, spa and gratuities are typically extra.
Which camps and houses can be taken exclusively?
A great many — from intimate tented camps and private ranch houses in the Mara, Laikipia and beyond, to villas and whole islands on the coast. We match the property to your party, occasion and season, and handle the buyout for you. See where you stay.
Is exclusive use good for families and children?
Ideal — it’s one of the main reasons families choose it. Children can relax and be themselves, mealtimes and drives flex around young ones, and childcare and child-friendly guiding are easily arranged. See family safaris.
