Jun – Oct & Jan – FebThe dry seasons — clearest mountain
The best time for Kilimanjaro views and for wildlife, which concentrates around the marshes. Skies are clearest and the mountain most likely to show in full. June–October is the long dry season; January–February a warm, clear window between the rains. The prime time for photography.
Nov & Mar – MayThe green seasons
The short rains (November) and long rains (March–May) bring lush plains, newborns, dramatic skies and superb birding, with far fewer visitors and lower rates. Kilimanjaro hides behind cloud more often, but when it clears the drama is unmatched. Some camps close during the long rains.
